Our Team

CIMA Care Burton Ltd provides the ultimate standard of care to individuals with learning difficulties in stimulating bespoke luxury surroundings.

We are a local company owned and managed by a dedicated, highly qualified and experienced team from healthcare backgrounds taking pride in delivering person-centred care to empower independence and belonging to those with learning difficulties.

We have grown in the last 2 years since our first registration offering a unique multidisciplinary service underpinned by dignity, trust and respect.

Why choose our team?

All of our four directors at CIMA (and many of our staff) have close family members with learning disabilities.

Our Skills

We pride ourselves on possessing honesty, openness and transparency. As directors we are all healthcare professionals (Doctors, pharmacists and healthcare manager) with excellent track records of experience in the health care sector. We all have up-to-date DBS checks. We value the principle of candour.

We believe that being open and transparent is crucial especially when things don’t go exactly according to plan. Having the insight and ability to provide a sincere apology when required and also having the commitment to put things right in a timely manner are very important in our organisation.

Trustworthiness and integrity. Our experienced GP Director is one of the GP governors of the local CCG. He is also a committee member of the local medical committee.

Meeting Needs

We feel passionate about caring for groups of service users. We believe it is crucial in having a carefully selected group of service users who bring the best out of one another and help each other thrive. A healthy dynamic mix of service users is important for a fruitful residence. We recognise the importance of patient centred care. We believe that empowering our service users and making them the centre of the care that they receive is the most important principle at our home.

Actively listening to our service users and their friends and family is the cornerstone of tailoring the personalized care that our service users receive. Our staff are recruited to tailor for the specific needs and requirements of our service users and they have the opportunity to contribute to the recruitment process. Truly, patient centred care designed from the bottom up around the individual.

Showing Respect

Even before service users come to our home to live, we have assessed their background and preferences thoroughly as part of our pre-admission needs assessment. We actively listen and discuss their views on sexuality, disability, religious practices, culture, diet, lifestyle and other preferences. The personalised care plans ate built around the above preferences. Our service users are encouraged to celebrate their own personal and individual background and heritage.

We don’t believe that the one size fits all approach is ideal. We would rather be champions in shared decision-making and where possible maximise informed decision-making to empower our service users autonomy. We believe that our service users confidentiality and privacy should be optimised at all times. We respect our service users’ personal space. Examples such as knocking on the room door of our service users and waiting until we are invited to enter, leaving the room when the individual is having a private conversation on the telephone.
